Sports Purpose Commission

Considering the fact that I wanted to draw this car for over two years it’s safe to say that this is the most exciting collaboration for me.
James Turner, founder of Sports Purpose commissioned me to draw his iconic 1965 Porsche 911 which James designed himself with the Paul Smith colour scheme and the car was built and painted inside and out by the one and only Tuthill Porsche team.

On an artwork that scale I would normally use over 60 coloured pencils, but this one had 4 different colours within my drawings range (which was front half of the car) so a lot more pencils were needed for shading in each of those colours/sections.

It was a massive challenge to be switching from one colour to another on one drawing, but once I was finished with the first (dark green) section - it started to come together and motivate me so much, that I literally couldn’t stop drawing.
